Three municipalities in Wetzel County will hold elections in the coming week: Hundred, Paden City, and Pine Grove.

The first to cast their ballots will be Paden City, on Thursday, June 6. A Recorder and one member of council from each ward will be elected. Recorder Tamra Billiter is running unopposed. Two council races are also uncontested: First Ward, Jim Richmond; and Third Ward, Dan Probst. The only race is for the Second Ward council seat being vacated by Councilman Richard Wright, who is not seeking re-election. The three men seeking to fill the seat are former councilman John Staggers, Joel Davis III, and former councilman and former mayor William B. Fox.

Polls will open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. Poll locations are as follows: First Ward, Former Middle School cafeteria; Second Ward, City building in the council chambers; Third Ward, Paden City Volunteer Fire Hall.

Both Pine Grove and Hundred will hold their elections on Tuesday, June 11. Polls will open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m.

The only race on both of those ballots are for mayor.

In Hundred incumbent Mayor Charles A. Sine is being challenged by current Councilman Charles L. Himelrick. Recorder Sherry Hayes is unopposed for re-election. While the town needs to elect five councilpersons, there are only three on the ballot, all incumbents: Johnanna Lemasters, Brian Barlett, and Donna Himelrick.

Current, appointed, Mayor Roy L. Justice is the only person on Pine Grove’s ballot for the town’s highest office. However, John Hurst is a registered write-in candidate. Also, Bonnie Martin is a write-in candidate for council. There are only four names on the ballot for council while five seats need to be filled: Brian Price, David Williams, Eva A. Adams, and Randy Street. Incumbent Recorder Kimberly J. Bates is unopposed.
