Randy L. Fordyce, 32, of P.O. Box 195, Hundred, pleaded guilty to one information count of unlawful assault May 22, before the Honorable Judge David W. Hummel Jr.

Per the terms of the agreement, Fordyce will be sentenced to one to five years in the West Virginia Penitentiary for Men, consecutive to the time he is already serving.

Fordyce was on parole at the time of the offense; thus, he was remanded to serve the one to five sentence for unlawful assault, consecutive to a three- to 30-year sentence he is serving. He will now be in prison for four to 35 years. The state has agreed not to file a recidivist against Fordyce.

Fordyce was given credit for time served.

In another matter, Keenan Spencer Slampak, 24, of 539 Market Lane, New Martinsville, pleaded guilty to an information count of grand larceny.

Slampak admitted to stealing jewelry to buy drugs and further admitted that he started out with prescription drugs before moving on to heroin.

It was noted that Slampak has admitted responsibility in the matter and had expressed remorse at a preliminary hearing.

Slampak admitted he took over $1,000 worth of jewelry and pawned it. He also admitted to victimizing family. Judge Hummel noted that this would have to be the worst part of the whole ordeal. Slampak agreed, “It really is.”

He was sentenced to one to 10 years in the West Virginia Penitentiary for Men, with credit for time served.
