The following personnel and routine matters would approved at Monday night’s meeting of the Wetzel County Board of Education.
Retirement:
Dana L. Haines, acceptance of retirement from position as fourth grade teacher at New Martinsville School, effective June 30.
Resignations:
Lori J. Helmick, acceptance of resignation from position as science teacher at Magnolia High School, effective June 30.
Steven D. Ross, acceptance of resignation from position as assistant girls’ basketball coach at MHS, effective immediately.
Nathan R. Tallman, acceptance of resignation from position as head golf coach at Paden City High School, effective May 7.
Jeanine K. Watson, acceptance of resignation from position as SAT Coordinator at Hundred High School, effective June 10.

Approval of request from Anita Howell to take a group of NMS students and classroom aides to Stacy Family Farm, LLC in Marietta, Ohio, on May 28. Funded through IDEA FY13 School Age Funding.
Approval of request from Karen Longwell and Joni Yoho to take the sixth and seventh grade classes at LDS to the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh, Pa., on May 28. Funded through student fees.
Approval of request from John Jennings to take the seventh grade students at SLS to the Carnegie Science Center and the Pittsburgh Zoo in
Pittsburgh, Pa., on June 4. Funded through student fees.

Approval of request from Elizabeth Al-Janaby for her children, Saleh Gabriel and Zayd Ishmael Al-Janaby, to be released from Wetzel County Schools (PCES) to continue attending Tyler County Schools for the 2013-2014 school year.
Approval of request from Ashley Moore for her son, Cole Moore, to be released from Wetzel County Schools (NMS) to continue attending Tyler County Schools for the 2013-2014 school year.
Request to Attend Wetzel County Schools:
Approval of request from Kelly Wetzel for her daughter, Elizabeth Haught, to continue attending Wetzel County Schools (WCCCF) for the remainder of the 2012-2013 school year.

Approval for SLS and LDS to participate in Title I Summer School beginning July 8 through July 26. (12 instructional days).
Policy 2512 Summer School:
Approval for Policy 2512 Summer School for students district-wide at-risk in grades three and eight to receive critical support services beginning July 8-July 26 (12 instructional days). The sites for Policy 2512 will be LDS, PCES, and SLS.
Summer School Remediation – High School:
Approval for HHS, MHS, and VHS to participate in a Summer School Program beginning July 1 through July 31 (21 instructional days). Remediation in English, Social Studies, Math, and Science, grades 9-12.
STEP-7 Plan for the 2013-2014 School Year: (In packet)
Approval for description of Educational Needs Plan for the Improvement of Instruction Program (STEP-7) for the 2013-2014 school year.
