Magnolia High School student Glenna Brown was honored for her choral achievements at the Wetzel County Board of Education meeting Monday night.
She will perform with the 2013 All-State Choir that performed at the Municipal Auditorium in Charleston on Saturday.
The All State Chorus is sponsored by the West Virginia Vocal Music Association (which is part of the West Virginia Music Educators Association) and is open to students in grades 10-12 who are members of the choral music program in their respective schools.
“You are a pretty multi-talented young lady,” Superintendent Diane Watt stated to Brown. “We are so proud of having you here in Wetzel County.”
Of Brown, she added, “She has a lot of great expectations for her future life. She loves math and she likes science, and she has some possible interest in being a forensic scientist.”
Of Instructor Amanda McPherson, who was also present at Monday night’s meeting, Brown stated, “She taught me not to be scared of music.”
