At approximately 2 p.m. today a fire broke out at a home on Locust Street in New Martinsville. The structure appears to be a total loss. As it is located adjacent to Magnolia High School, students were evacuated as a safety precaution.

There did not appear to be anyone home at the time of the fire or any injuries as a result of the blaze.
