Hundred Sees Many Break-Ins
Sergeant J.E. Shriver of the West Virginia State Police’s Hundred detachment reported that several vehicles and outbuildings outside residences in the Hundred area were broken into last week.
Shriver stated that the targeted area is located on Route 69, north of Hundred, and on one side road leading off of 69, toward Pennsylvania.
During the early morning hours on Jan. 28, Shriver said at least seven different pieces of property were broken into, four cars and three outbuildings. Shriver added that gasoline was stolen out of one outbuilding, a generator out of another, and a third outbuilding had a chainsaw stolen from it.
He reported that the four vehicles were “rummaged around in” and one vehicle was found burnt near the county line, in Marion County.
Shriver asked that the public be aware and report any suspicious activities and vehicles. “Use caution and get as much description and detail, such as approximate age, height, weight . . .” Anyone with any tips are urged to call the state police at 304-775-4488. Shriver stated that all tips will remain anonymous.
