Board Approves Matters
The following personnel and routine matters met the approval of the board at the Feb. 4 meeting of the Wetzel County Board of Education:
Resignations
Pamela A. Chapman, acceptance of resignation from position as Girls’ Track Coach at New Martinsville School, effective immediately.
Bruce D. Crawford, acceptance of resignation from position as Assistant Girls’ Basketball Coach at Paden City High School, effective immediately.
William J. Taylor, acceptance of resignation from position as half-time Social Studies Teacher at Valley High School, Assistant Girls’ Track Coach at Valley High School, Extended Day Tutor at Short Line School, half-time Countywide Substitute and Homebound Teacher, effective Jan. 29.
Service Personnel
Karen L. Pegg, approval for change in classification from half-time Cook II (676-B) at Short Line School and half-time Countywide Substitute Cook to half-time Cook III (677-C) at Short Line School and half-time Countywide Substitute Cook, (will remain “Temporary” Cook III at New Martinsville School (677-C) for remainder of the 2012-2013 school year or until the employee she’s replacing returns to work), effective Feb. 7.

Routine Matters
Kiley Parson was given permission for Deondre M. Johnson to attend Wetzel County Schools (Paden City High School) for the remainder of the 2012-2013 school year.
Susan Kirkland was given permission for her son, David Kirkland, to be released from Wetzel County Schools (Paden City High School) to continue attending Tyler County Schools for the remainder of the 2012-2013 school year.
Out of State Trips
Mark Batton, head football coach at Magnolia High School, was given permission to take five members of the Magnolia High School’s football team to the Ohio Valley Football Coaches Association banquet on Feb. 17 at the Garfield Elementary School in Steubenville, Ohio. This trip is funded through Magnolia High School football program.
Bruce Ensinger was given permission to take two Choir Students from New Martinsville School to the National Choral Conference March 12-16, 2013 in Dallas, Texas, at no expense to the board.
Wetzel County Policy Readings
The second reading of the Wetzel County Policy GCBDB, Personal Leave Bank, was also approved at Monday night’s meeting.
