Members of the January 2013 Wetzel County Grand Jury met behind closed doors Jan. 8 and returned 26 true bills to six defendants for this session of circuit court, which is to preside under Judge David W. Hummel.

Brian Leroy Wade, 49, of North Central Regional Jail, was handed an 11-count indictment containing one-count of attempted entry of a building other than a dwelling, three counts of destruction of property, two counts of entry of a building other than a dwelling, two counts of petit larceny, one count of grand larceny, one count of possession of a stolen vehicle, and one count of fleeing from an officer.

Counts one alleges that on or about April 2, 2012, Wade allegedly attempted to break and enter Gumby’s store located at 231 North State Route 2, in New Martinsville, with the intent to commit a larceny. Count two, destruction of property, alleges that Wade destroyed a window at the Gumby’s store.

Counts three through five, entry of a building other than a dwelling, petit larceny, and destruction of property, allege that on or about March 26, 2012, Wade unlawfully entered Blue’s Sidecar in New Martinsville where he allegedly stole goods having a value of less than $1,000. On this date, Wade allegedly destroyed poker machines at the facility.

Counts six through eight, entry of a building other than a dwelling, petit larceny, and destruction of property, allege that on or about April 2, 2012, Wade unlawfully entered Ruttenberg’s store in New Martinsville where he unlawfully stole goods totaling less than $1,000. Count eight, specifically, alleges that Wade destroyed a door at Ruttenberg’s.

Count nine, possession of a stolen vehicle, alleges that on or about April 3, Wade feloniously had in his possession, a vehicle owned by Paramount Motors in Clarksburg, W.Va.

Count ten, grand larceny, alleges that Wade did unlawfully steal a 2004 Ford F-150 automobile, from the residence of Helen L. Roe belonging to Michael A. Mars.

Count 11, fleeing from an officer, alleges that on or about April 3, Wade fled on foot when confronted by officers from the New Martinsville Police Department, who were acting in their official capacity, when Wade had reason to believe the officers were attempting to arrest him.

Sarah Irene Watson, 21, of P.O. Box 125, Littleton, was handed a two-count indictment from the January 2013 grand jury. Watson was charged with one count of nighttime burglary and one count of battery. Count one alleges that on or about Nov. 10, 2012, Watson, in the nighttime, allegedly broke into the house of Nathan Koontz, located in Littleton, with the intent of commit a crime.

Count two alleges that on this same date, Watson committed battery by striking Patricia Nolan in the face, at Koontz’s house.

In a separate indictment, Watson received a four-count indictment from the January 2013 Grand Jury charging her with two sets of nighttime burglary and battery.

Counts one and two charge that on or about Nov. 7, Watson, in the nighttime, unlawfully entered the home of Nathan Koontz where she struck Chelsea Fox in the face with her hands.

Counts three and four charge that on Nov. 7, Watson, in the nighttime, unlawfully entered the home of Brian Carroll where she struck Tonya Tedrow in the face with her hands.

Tiffany Mae Garrison, 22, of P.O. Box 321, Littleton, received a four-count indictment from the January 2013 Grand Jury charging her with two sets of nighttime burglary and battery.

Counts one and two charge that on or about Nov. 7, Garrison, in the nighttime, unlawfully entered the home of Nathan Koontz where she struck Chelsea Fox in the face with her hands.

Counts three and four charge that on Nov. 7, Garrison, in the nighttime, unlawfully entered the home of Brian Carroll where she struck Tonya Tedrow in the face with her hands.

Trisha Lee Gorby, 27, of P.O. Box 131, Hundred, received a one count indictment from the January 2013 Grand Jury, charging her with delivery of a controlled narcotic substance (morphine). The indictment alleges that on or about June 8, 2011, Gorby intentionally delivered Morphine, a Schedule II controlled narcotic substance, in Wetzel County.

Chad L. Bassett, 30, of 301 Dry Run Road, Middlebourne, received a two-count indictment charging him with two counts of failure to update sex offender registry information. Count one alleges that between Sept. 1, 2012, and Oct. 15, 2012, Bassett knowingly failed or refused to report a move to a new address to the West Virginia State Police in Wetzel County.

Count two alleges that Bassett, between the dates of Aug. 28, 2012, and Oct. 15, 2012, failed or refused to report a change in the name and address of his employer or place of occupation to the West Virginia State Police in Wetzel County.

Jahna Jo Watson, 20, of P.O. Box 131, Hundred, received two counts of delivery of a controlled substance (marijuana), from the January 2013 Grand Jury. Count one alleges that on or about June 6, 2011 Watson feloniously delivered marijuana, a Schedule I controlled substance, in Wetzel County. Count two alleges that Watson committed the same offense on June 8, 2011.
