General Election Will Be Tuesday

The General Election will be held Tuesday, Nov. 6. However early voting is currently underway at the Wetzel County Courthouse until 5 p.m. on Saturday.

In Wetzel County citizens have few contested local races: sheriff (see other story, www.wetzelchronicle.com/page/content.detail/id/511824/Brookover-And-Jarrell-Run-For-Wetzel-Sheriff.html?nav=5001 ), house of delegates (see other story, www.wetzelchronicle.com/page/content.detail/id/511825/Three-Vie-For-House-Of-Delegates-Seat.html?nav=5001 ), and board of education. They will also have a say in the race for the First Congressional District Representative (see other story, www.wetzelchronicle.com/page/content.detail/id/511826/McKinley–Thorn-Seek-Congressional-Seat.html?nav=5001 ).

Four residents of Wetzel County will vie for an unexpired term on the Wetzel County Board of Education. The position was previously filled by Willie Baker, who died unexpectedly this summer. The term will expire on June 30, 2014.

Chris Baker, the son of Willie Baker, was appointed to fill his late father’s seat. He is seeking to continue at the position. Other names on the ballot are Mary Kay Milliken, Sherry Lemasters Bachman, and William Aberegg.

Sample ballots can be found on the print version of this edition of the Wetzel Chronicle to see a full slate of races. Also, in the paper is a list of precincts and their polling places. Polls are open on Tuesday from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
