Sam wants to invite everyone to the 11th annual Mutt Strut to be held at the Wetzel County 4-H Grounds Oct. 6.

The Wetzel County Animal Shelter Supporters, Inc. would like to make sure everyone is aware of the upcoming Mutt Strut at the Wetzel County 4-H Grounds on Oct. 6. Prizes for the most pledge monies collected will be Kindle Fire, Nintendo 3DS-XL, and $100 gift certificates. There will also be lots of prizes for raffles/door prizes and contests.

This year they are having a pie cook off and a costume and dog/owner look alike contest on stage. Carman Harman will be doing a live radio remote for the event. There will be many booths and pet related activities as well as concessions.

Some of the events will be pawdicures, photo ops, agility course, caricatures, homemade doggie treats, 50/50, t-shirt decorating, face painting, sale items, bubble wagon, and spay/neuter vouchers available from the humane society.

The money raised at the event is primarily through pledges raised by walkers. The course is a one-mile stroll around the fairgounds. If you do not have a dog, you can rent a dog from the shelter with which to walk and participate. Participants who collect over $40 in pledges receive a free T-shirt. There is no fee to attend the event. You must be present to receive a door prize.

Pledge sheets can be picked up at the shelter, most local merchants, and the local veterinarian offices.
