Fluharty Arrested For Stealing Thousands Of Dollars Cash

A New Martinsville man was arrested Thursday for grand larceny after allegedly taking thousands of dollars from a resident at Abbie View Apartments.
On or about Dec. 28, the resident gave a statement that she had $8,000 stolen from her apartment. According to a report filed by New Martinsville Police Detective Donnie Harris, Jacob Patrick Fluharty, 28, of 269 East Thistle Court, New Martinsville, admitted to stealing at least $4,000. Fluharty went with New Martinsville Patrolman Don Larsen to another residence and recovered the cash money.
Fluharty faces one to 10 years in the state penitentiary if found guilty of grand larceny. On Dec. 29 he was arraigned via video in Wetzel County Magistrate Court and bond was set at $10,000 surety. On Dec. 30 he was released on bond and his preliminary hearing before Magistrate Judith Goontz is set for Jan. 10 at 1:30 p.m.
