Board Approves Many Retirements, Changes

The Wetzel County Board of Education approved several matters during their Nov. 28 meeting. The following retirements, resignations, changes in assignment, and employment of county educators and staff are detailed alphabetically by school.

Long Drain School

Shannon L. Eastham (non-certified) was approved for employment as Seventh/Eighth Grade Cheerleading Coach at LDS, effective the beginning of the 2011-2012 WVSSAC Season.

Jay T. Himmelrick’s request for retirement from his position as Head Custodian/Painter/Sanitation Plant Operator at LDS, effective at the end of the day on June 29, 2012, was accepted.

Sharla J. Himmelrick’s request for retirement from her position as First Grade Teacher at LDS, effective at the end of the day on June 29, 2012, was accepted.

Theresa A. Hucik’s request for retirement from her position as Second Grade Teacher at LDS, effective at the end of the day on June 29, 2012, was accepted.

Denise A. Huggins’ request for retirement from her position as Special Education Teacher at LDS, effective at the end of the day on June 29, 2012, was accepted.

Magnolia High School

James David Kimble’s request for retirement from his position as Technical Education Teacher and TSA Advisor at MHS, effective June 29, 2012, was accepted.

New Martinsville School

Gerald F. Rice’s request for retirement from his position as Custodian/Painter at NMS, effective at the end of the day on Dec. 31, 2011, was accepted.

Gregory W. Richmond’s request for retirement from his position as Physical Education Teacher at NMS, effective the conclusion of the 2011-2012 school year, was accepted.

Paden City High School

Jason Stoneking (non-certified) was approved for employment as Eighth Grade Girls’ Basketball Coach at PCHS, effective the beginning of the 2011-2012 WVSSAC Season.

Bryan J. Suter (non-certified) was approved for employment as Seventh Grade Girls’ Basketball Coach at PCHS, effective the beginning of the 2011-2012 WVSSAC Season.

Short Line School

Patricia N. Stender Potts’ request for retirement from her position as Special Education Teacher at SLS, effective June 30, 2012, was accepted.

Sheila J. Tedrow’s request to extend her unpaid medical leave of absence from her position as Half-time Custodian at SLS, which began Aug. 19 through Nov. 15, 2011, to extend through Dec. 15, 2011, was also accepted.

Countywide

Linda K. Barth’s request for retirement from her position as Coordinator/Accountant of Transportation/Child Nutrition/Maintenance, effective June 30, 2012, was accepted.

Diane L. Corrigan’s request for resignation from her position as Countywide Substitute Teacher, effective immediately, was accepted.

Shauna K. Heil was approved for employment as Countywide Substitute Teacher, effective Nov. 29, 2011.

Jeanine K. Watson’s request for resignation from her position as Countywide Alternative Education Instructor based at HHS, effective immediately, was accepted.
