Personnel Issues Approved
The Wetzel County Board of Education approved several matters during their Oct. 17 meeting. The following retirements, resignations, changes in assignment, and employment of county educators and staff are detailed alphabetically by school. Positions take effect immediately, unless otherwise noted.
Hundred High School
Jeremy B. Kelch was approved for employment as Head Girls’ Basketball Coach at HHS, effective the beginning of the 2011-2012 WVSSAC Season.
Mary A. Pethtel was approved for a contracted position as Administering Medications (537-G) at HHS for the 2011-2012 school year, effective Oct. 3.
Long Drain School
Shannon N. Bartrug was approved for employment as Eighth Grade Girls’ Basketball Coach at LDS, effective the beginning of the 2011-2012 WVSSAC Season.
Shannon B. Duckworth’s request for resignation from her position as Seventh/Eighth Grade Cheerleader Coach at LDS was accepted.
Cheryl S. Hillberry was approved for a change in classification from Cook II (676/B) at LDS to Cook III (677/C) at LDS, effective Oct. 19.
Magnolia High School
Mark D. Blair was approved for a contracted services position as Evening Events Coordinator, fall season, at MHS, effective the beginning of the 2011-2012 Fall WVSSAC Season. Notably, this is not a county-funded position.
Frank Cibik’s request for resignation from his position as Assistant Girls’ Basketball Coach at MHS was accepted.
New Martinsville School
Keith A. Herrick’s request for retirement from his position as Assistant Principal at NMS was accepted, effective June 30, 2012.
Chad W. West’s request for resignation from his position as Seventh/Eighth Grade Boys’ Basketball Coach at NMS was accepted.
Paden City Elementary
Cathy J. Amos’ request for retirement from her position as Teacher at PCES was accepted, effective June 15, 2012.
Paden City High School
Lorne K. Sine was approved for employment as a non-certified Head Girls’ Basketball Coach at PCHS, effective the beginning of the 2011-2012 WVSSAC Season.
Countywide
William D. Stuart was approved for employment as Bus Operator-Silver Hill bus route, Bus No. 26, effective Oct. 18.
