Commission Considers Lease At Center
At the Wetzel County Commission meeting held Sept. 27, Abby Delaney addressed the commission regarding filing a lease agreement for a facility on the 4-H grounds. Keith Keane, also present, works for Cayman Energy and has requested the use of the conference room of the Mollohan Center for several months as an office where he can conveniently meet with pipeline inspectors.
Keane, who was also present before the commission, went on to say he would only need the room a few hours a day to conduct business, and would require only a small filing cabinet to be stored in the room for his use.
Delaney stated the conference room was only booked for two occasion between now and July 2012, and noted that the center’s banquet hall could be made available in place of the conference room for those set events.
Commission President Don Mason said they would take some time to discuss the idea and decide on possible lease terms and rates. The commission plans to revisit the matter at next week’s meeting.
In another matter the commission opened bids for another roofing project for two cabins and the food stand at the 4-H grounds. Three bids were received for the project. The highest bidder was Precision Plumbing and General Contracting of Paden City at an estimated cost of $45,165.50 followed by Molly Joe, Inc., dba Quality Aluminum of Paden City at a cost of $29,120. The winning bid went to Glasscock Construction and Remodeling of Folsom at the lowest bid of $27,000. Notably, Glasscock was awarded the bid for the roof repair to the lower boys’ cabins of the fair grounds last October.
