Officials at Wetzel County Hospital announced recently that they have named Brian Felici as the C.E.O of the New Martinsville facility. Felici has been serving as the Interim C.E.O since January of this year and will assume his permanent role effective immediately.

“We have been committed to finding the right leader for our organization and we believe that we have found it in Brian,” said Bill Grimm, chairman of the WCH Board of Trustees and chairman of the Search Committee.

“He has the proven leadership qualities and management experience that will help us to continue to move forward as a healthcare provider,” Grimm added.

Felici was selected from a pool of more than 50 candidates, Grimm added, and was chosen for the position after a lengthy interview process.

“The Search Committee had a number of highly qualified candidates for the position,” Grimm said. “We narrowed the list to three and Brian was ultimately selected.”

Felici has more than 25 years of healthcare management experience, holding leadership positions with several hospitals.

Additionally, he has been active in both the West Virginia and Ohio Hospital Associations, holding committee roles in both organizations.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

“While serving as Interim C.E.O. and during the interview process, I have been incredibly impressed with the level of commitment to the hospital by the staff, physicians, and board members,” Felici said. “They’re proud of their hospital and of their community.”

“It’s a wonderful opportunity to be a part of such a dedicated, compassionate, and professional group,” Felici added. “I anticipate good things for our future.”

A Wheeling native, Felici is a graduate of West Virginia University and received a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from George Washington University.

Felici and his wife, Nancy, have two sons.
