Saturday’s Truck/Car Accident In Proctor Injures One
On Saturday at approximately 9:44 a.m. the Wetzel County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of state Route 89 and state Route 2 in Wetzel County. The accident involved a 1996 Mazda and a semi-trailer transporting compressed hydrogen. The driver of the Mazda was transported to Wetzel County Hospital. Sheriff James Hoskins believes the individual may still be recovering in the hospital. The driver of the semi was not treated for injuries.
Corporal Roger Spragg, New Martinsville Police Department Officer Don Larsen, and Sheriff Hoskins responded to the accident, as well as members of the New Martinsville Volunteer Fire Department, Wetzel County EMS, Division of Highways, and the Public Service Commission. 911 Dispatcher Gary Glasscock also assisted.
Sheriff Hoskins stated not much information can be released at this time, as the accident remains under investigation.
