By Staff | Jan 12, 2011

Two New Martinsville residents were trapped inside a vehicle last Tuesday following a single-vehicle accident on state Route 7.

At about 5:40 p.m. on Jan. 4 Sheriff James Hoskins and Deputies Rob Scott and Rob Hayes responded to the crash, located four miles east of New Martinsville on state Route 7. They found the vehicle rolled over an embankment, entrapping Pamela Davis and Patrick Loy inside the vehicle.

Hoskins said after being freed, Davis was flown by Air Evac Lifeteam to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Loy was taken to Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling by New Martinsville Ambulance 21.

The New Martinsville Fire Department extracted the victims, while the Paden City Fire Department set up a landing zone for the medical helicopter.

While it could not be confirmed, both victims are thought to be out of the hospital and recovering.
