A two-vehicle accident was reported to have occurred on Oct. 2 at approximately 7 a.m. on W.Va. 2 near the Wetzel-Marshall counties line.

Sheriff James Hoskins said a Ford Explorer containing two males was traveling north hit a deer, veered over into the southbound land, and struck a Dodge Caliber driven south by a female. The male driver was taken to WCH and taken by helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. The male passenger was taken to Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale.

The female, who was alone in the care, was taken to Wetzel County Hospital where she was treated and released.

Hoskins said charges may be pending. Chief Deputy Rob Haught investigated the incident. Both vehicles were totalled.

Emergency responders to the incident were from the Wetzel County Emergency Medical Service, New Martinsville Volunteer Fire Department, and Bayer Material Science.
