The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley announces the opening of the 2025 River Valley Health Fund grant cycle. The RVHF was established following the sale of Ohio Valley Medical Center and East Ohio Regional Hospital to continue the charitable efforts of the former nonprofit hospitals. The fund supports initiatives that improve the health and well-being of residents in the Ohio Valley.

Eligible applicants: 501(c)(3) nonprofits, schools, fire/police departments, and similarly exempt organizations serving Wheeling, Martins Ferry and St. Clairsville, and surrounding counties in West Virginia including Brooke, Ohio, Marshall and Wetzel, and in Ohio including Belmont, Jefferson, Monroe, Guernsey and Harrison.

Funding priorities include:

Health education and services for vulnerable populations;

Nutrition and healthcare education;

Health screenings;

Food insecurity; and

Primary medical and dental care.
