Additional Docket Day Cases Heard in Wetzel
Wetzel County Circuit Court Judge Richard Wilson presided over the following additional cases on docket day with some waived over from the last term of court.
Jeremy Ryan Antrobius of New Martinsville appeared for a status hearing. Wilson set a return hearing for 1:15 p.m. June 26. Wetzel County Assistance Prosecutor Justin Craft is prosecuting the case. Scott Brown is Antrobius’ attorney. Antrobius is accused of sexual abuse in the first degree and sexual abuse by a cutodian or person in a position of trust to a child. The crimes allegedly occurred between July 1, 2023, and October 17, 2023, in Wetzel County.
A return hearing for Stefan Kendal Cooper of New Martinsville was set by Wilson for 1:15 p.m. June 26. Wilson said it was pointed out to him previously that he once served as Cooper’s attorney while he was working as a lawyer, before becoming a judge. Wilson told Cooper that he had no recollection of the details of the past case. Neither the defense or the state objected to Wilson presiding over Cooper’s case. Michael Baum is Cooper’s attorney. Wetzel County Prosecutor Tim Haught is prosecuting the case. Cooper is accused of insurance fraud.
A return hearing for Mikeal James Craft of Folsom, W.Va., was set for 1:15 p.m. June 26 by Wilson. Haught is prosecuting the case. Scott Brown is Craft’s attorney. Craft is accused of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance, methamphetamine. The crime allegedly occurred on or about September 4, 2024, in Wetzel County.
Chad Eric Morgan will be evaluated for possible admission to the adult drug court. Wilson set a return hearing for 1:15 p.m. June 26. White is his attorney. Craft is prosecuting the case.
Ryan Douglas Rouze, 38, of Denver, Colo., was arraigned. A pre-trial hearing was set for 1:15 p.m. June 24 by Wilson. Haught is prosecuting the case. Mendelson is his attorney. He is facing a three-count indictment including one count of alleged fleeing in a vehicle from an officer while DUI; one count of alleged DUI alcohol third offense; and one count of alleged driving while revoked for DUI third or subsequent offense, all on or about Jan. 23, 2025.
Bradley Phillip Smith, 41, of New Martinsville pleaded not guilty to drug-related charges. Wilson set a pre-trial hearing for 1:15 p.m. June 24. Haught is prosecuting the case. Roger Curry is Smith’s attorney. Smith is facing a three-count indictment including one count of alleged possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, with intent to deliver; one count of alleged possession of a controlled narcotic substance, fentanyl, with intent to deliver; and one count of alleged possession of a controlled substance, xylazine, with intent to deliver. All allegedly occurred on or about Feb. 8, 2025, and Feb. 16, 2025.
Keshawn Antonio Creighton, 37, of Wheeling pleaded not guilty to the charge of fraudulent schemes. Creighton said he had just received notice of the hearing that morning, which was why he was initially running late. Wilson set a pre-trial hearing for 1:15 p.m. June 24. Haught is prosecuting the case. Mendelson is his attorney. The offenses alleged occurred between Aug. 25, 2024, and Oct. 1, 2024. According to the one-count indictment, Creighton, representing himself as manager of Anytime Fitness in Wetzel County, allegedly deprived 11 individuals of cash by advising them that the gym had a “promotional deal” for a membership for a specific time period at a substantially lower price, and told them he could only accept cash because the gym’s card reader was not working. The individuals provided the cash though Creighton allegedly knew there was no such promotional deal and kept the money for his personal use, accumulating $1,300.49.
Ellis Baxter Parker Jr., 60, of New Martinsville had a status hearing slated for 1:15 p.m June 24 by Wilson. Haught is prosecuting the case. Michael Baum is his attorney. Parker in February was arraigned on and pleaded not guilty to 28 felony counts of sexual offenses against a minor female child. The crimes allegedly occurred during a one-year period between Jan. 27, 2021, and Jan. 26, 2022. Each charge allegedly occurred at separate times.
A status hearing for Logan Wayne Powell, 28, of New Martinsville was ordered by Wilson for 9:30 a.m. Aug. 20. Powell is slated to undergo a psychological evaluation. Powell is charged with six felony counts of possession of child pornography (violence against a child) and possession of child pornography (more than 600 images). The offenses allegedly occurred between April 8, 2024, and April 17, 2024, in Wetzel County. Craft is prosecuting the case. Michael Kuhn is his attorney.
Robert Patrick Dibell of Paden City has a pre-trial hearing set for Aug. 20. His trial is set for 9 a.m. Sept. 2. Wilson ordered that a description of an evidence testing procedure be provided to the defense. Haught also asked for a cheek swab as part of the case’s evidence. Curry is Dibell’s attorney. Dibell is charged with robbery in the first degree, prohibited person in possession of a firearm, and use or presentation of a firearm while engaged in the commission of a felony. The crimes allegedly occurred on or about Nov. 6, 2024 in Wetzel County. Haught is prosecuting the case.
Shannon Marie Fendler McMullen of Sistersville did not appear for her hearing and a capias warrant was ordered. McMullen is charged with the felony offense of fraudulent use of an access device on or about May 28, 2024. According to count one of the indictment, McMullen allegedly used a man’s Peoples Bank Debit Card without his consent to make purchases totalling $1,503.26. The alleged purchases included four at ESPN Bet, nine at GNC Golden Nugget, two at GoMart #123 and three at Betrivers.com. According to the indictment, McMullen is facing six other counts related to felony forgery and uttering for allegedly forging checks belonging to the same man and cashing them at Walmart in New Martinsville on various dates in May 2024.
