Littleton Man Sentenced 1-5 Years For Failing To Register As Sex Offender
Wetzel County Circuit Court Judge Richard Wilson sentenced a sex offender to 1-5 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to not registering with the West Virginia State Police in a timely manner.
Robert R. Chambers of Littleton, W.Va., pleaded guilty to an information count of failing to register as a sex offender, first offense, during a hearing May 2.
He was given credit for time served, about 117 days.
Wetzel County Assistant Prosecutor Justin Craft said if the case had gone to trial evidence would have shown that Chambers did not register his address in Littleton with the State Police detachment in Paden City. As part of the plea, the state would not file a recidivist charge.
Chambers’ attorney is Andy Mendelson.
In 2022, Chambers was charged in a two count felony indictment with failure to update sex offender registry information.
