A large crowd at the Family Affair.

The Tyler County Family Resource Network hosted its third annual Family Affair on Thursday, April 24th, at the Sistersville Elks Club, and the event was hailed as a tremendous success by all in attendance.

Designed especially for families expecting a child or with children under the age of four, the Family Affair provided a wide range of resources aimed at supporting parents and young children. Families were welcomed with a light lunch, refreshments, and the chance to win giveaways and door prizes throughout the day.

The Sistersville Elks Club graciously hosted the event, providing a warm and welcoming environment for the celebration. Participants enjoyed connecting with local businesses and organizations, who shared valuable information about the services and resources they offer to families in the community.

Organizers expressed their gratitude to the many businesses and community partners who made the event possible, noting that it is efforts like these that help build stronger, more connected communities for all families.

The popular event was sponsored by the Tyler County Partners in Prevention and Tyler County Family Resource Network and was also funded in part by the WV Department of Human Services. Vendors participating were Community Resources, The Health Plan, Aetna Better Health of WV, Wellpoint Health Care, Hero Plumbing LLC, WV Department of Human Services, Friendly Lions Club & Tyler County Leo Lions Club, WVU Center for Excellence in Disabilities: Paths for Parents/Family to Family, WesBanco, Tyler County Family Support Center, Tyler County Parents As Teachers, Appalachian Council Head Start, Right From the Start, WIC, Marietta Memorial/Sistersville General Hospital, West Virginia Parent Training and Information, Wetzel-Tyler Adult Learning Center, West Virginia Department of Health, WV-WV Childhood, Lead Poisoning Prevention Project, Westbrook Health Services and McCormick Crossing.
