Wetzel County Hospital Welcomes New Director of Nursing

WVU Medicine Wetzel County Hospital has a new director of nursing, Parkersburg native Angela Delaney.
Tony Martinelli, president and CEO of WVU Medicine Wetzel County Hospital, made the announcement April 1 on the hospital’s social media.
“Angela is a registered nurse by training with 27 years of experience in her field, and has worked in health care for a total of 32 years,” Martinelli said. “She obtained her bachelor’s degree in nursing from WVU, and has worked throughout the state of West Virginia in various nursing roles.”
Martinelli noted she most recently worked at WVU Medicine United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, W.Va. She also worked in pediatrics, advanced cardiac care units, labor and delivery, medical-surgical and step down intensive care units.
“Angela will be responsible for the oversight and implementation of the hospital’s daily nursing operations, facilitating optimal organizational performance, and assisting in reaching our strategic and mission-oriented objectives of providing the highest quality health care for our community,” Martinelli said.
Delaney is also a board member for the Amputee Centers in Parkersburg. A mom of three adult sons, Delaney enjoys traveling, hiking and dancing.
“Angela is looking forward to maintaining strong, open communication with her staff, and is a big believer in an open-door policy to promote teamwork and collaboration for the best patient outcomes possible,” Martinelli said.
