Paper Shredding Event to be Held: Electronic Devices Collected
The Wetzel County Solid Waste Authority will sponsor a paper shredding event on Presidents Day, Monday, February 20, 2023, at the Authority’s facility located at 250 North Street in New Martinsville, WV. The event will be held between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM on that date. Gator Shredding of Parkersburg will be on site with two trucks: one truck for paper products and a second truck for small electronics. It should be noted that the event will end earlier that 3:00 PM if the trucks fill up. Paper products to be shredded must be free of any plastics and any metal or plastic bindings, and a maximum of five banker sized boxes per participant will be accepted. Small electronics that will be accepted include computers, laptops, small printers, monitors, tablets, hard drives, and cell phones. No televisions will be accepted. The paper materials will be shredded onsite. The electronic devices will be collected and transported for subsequent separation and recycling. The event is for residents only and the service will be provided at no cost to the participants. Unfortunately, materials and items from businesses cannot be accepted.
