River High School Students Art Featured

By Staff | Feb 8, 2023

River HS art students took part in the Marietta Times Newspapers annual calendar contest. This year’s theme was “Fairs and Festivals.” The newspaper received entries from high schools in their 6 county service area. Gavin Todd’s ‘4th of July” painting is featured for the month of July. Haylee Deitch’s painting “Pumpkin Patch Truck” is featured for the month of October. Karson Pfalzgraf’s drawing of “Day of the Dead” is featured for the month of November. Madison Alderman painted “Masked Female on Day of the Dead.” This is the second year that both Madison and Haylee’s artwork was featured in the calendar. Mara Beard used black fine point marker to create her “Day of the Dead Celebration.” Hunter Horton used colored pencils to create his drawing of “Woodstock.” All seven entries from River HS were featured in this year’s calendar. The calendar is a promotion of the Newspapers In Education (NIE) program.
