Lions Will Continue to “Roar” in Paden City

By Randy Rutherford - Staff Writer | Feb 8, 2023

After surrendering their charter in the winter of 2022, a renewed Paden City Lions Club has been formed during a reorganization meeting held on January 24th. This reorganization was spearheaded by two members of the Friendly Lions club; longtime member Ken Stead, who now resides in Paden City, and West Virginia Lions District 29-L, 1st Vice District Governor Dan Heintzman, who serves as Secretary of the Friendly Club. Through their efforts a Paden City Branch of the Friendly Club was formed. Over the course of several months, twelve individuals joined the branch club, which was enough to reform a “stand alone” Paden City Lions Club. As this was completed within a 12 month time period, the new club will be able to retain the original charter and continue a 95 year tradition of Lions service in Paden City. Besides local community service, Lions clubs worldwide focus on sight conservation, diabetes, childhood cancer, hunger, and environmental issues.
