Wetzel County Magistrate Court Cases Heard By Magistrates Judith Goontz and Donald Harris
Angela, Dawn Adams, 44, posted a $5000 personal recognizance bond for the felony offense of Driving While License Suspended -DUI alleged to occur on or about January 11, 2023. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 30, 2023.
Andrew Bailey, 32, posted a $30,000 property surety bond for the felony offense of a Person Prohibited From Possessing a Firearm.
Joseph Bittorie, age unavailable, was cited on or about January 14, 2023 for Additional Powers DNR Regulatory violation.
Stephen Cooper, 55, has been charged with the felony offense of Gross Neglect of a Child, Creating a Substantial Risk of Death or Serious Bodily Injury. Cooperás preliminary hearing was waived and the case has been transferred to Wetzel county Circuit Court.
Hunter Dowd, 24, has been charged with the felony offense of Manufacture/Deliver/ Possess with Intent to Manufacture/ Deliver a Schedule 1 or II Narcotic, alleged to occur on or about July 21, 2022.
Ronald Lee Dunham, 46, is charged with the felony offense of Manufacture/Deliver/ Possess with Intent to Manufacture/ Deliver a Schedule I or II Narcotic alleged to occur on her about January 4, 2023. Dunham waived his preliminary hearing and the case was transferred to Wetzel county circuit court.
Amber Ellenwood, 31, pled, not guilty on January 4, 2023 to the misdemeanor offense of Obtaining Services Under False Pretenses alleged to have occurred on or about January 3, 2023, a $2000 property surety bond was set. Ellenwood is set to return February 21, 2023.
Robert Gatian, 67, posted $3000 bond for the felony offense DUI>=.15(misdemeanor)
Richard, Leroy Leek, 22, pled no contest and was ordered to pay $190.25 for the misdemeanor DNR violation of Failure to Properly Check Deer, violation occurring on or about January 1, 2023.
Curtis Lindner, 38 pled, not guilty to the misdemeanor offense of, Knowing or Intentionally Possessing a Controlled Substance Without a Valid Prescription, alleged to have occurred on or about January 4, 2023. A pretrial has been set for February 21, 2023.
Michael, Richard Martin, 32, posted $1000 bond on the misdemeanor offense alleged to occur on or about January 1, 2023 of Unlawful Injury To or Destruction of Property. Martian is scheduled to return for a pre trial hearing on February 14, 2023.
Rhonda Ann Morgan, 41, is charged with a misdemeanor offense alleged to have occurred on or about about January 9, 2023 of Harassment by Electronic Device.
Seth Reynolds, 25, has been charged with felony Manufacture/ Deliver /Possess With Intent to Manufacture / Deliver a Schedule I or II Narcotic. The crime is alleged to have occurred on or about December 31, 2022
Stephen Allen Stiles, 46, pled, not guilty to the misdemeanor offense of Knowingly, or Intentionally Possessing a Controlled Substance Without a Valid Prescription and to the misdemeanor offense of Driving While License Revoked for DUI.
Jeannie M. Swanson, 42, pled, not guilty and posted a $1500 property surety bond for the misdemeanor offense alleged to have occurred on or about January 7, 2023, of Knowingly or Intentionally Possessing a Controlled Substance Without a Valid Prescription. A pre-trial has been set for February 14, 2023.
Charles, Robert Wells, 33, pled, not guilty and posted a $1000 cash bond for the misdemeanor offense alleged to have occurred on or about January 4, 2023 of Knowingly, or Intentionally Possessing a Controlled Substance Without a Valid Prescription. A pre-trial for this misdemeanor charge is scheduled for February 28, 2023.
Charles Robert Wells, 33, entered a guilty plea to the misdemeanor offense of Attempt to Defeat, a Drug or Alcohol Screening Test by Substitution of a False Sample. Wells also pled guilty to Obstructing an Officer. Both charges occurred on or about January 4, 2023. Wells was ordered to serve 60 days in jail on the first charge and 60 days in jail for the second charge. Both charges are to be served concurrently.
Anthony Winans, 31, charged with the misdemeanor offense of Securing Gas, Water, or Electricity, by Device, With Intent to Defraud. The offense is alleged to have occurred on or about January 6, 2023.
Tory Dalrymple, 37, pled no contest and paid $470.25 in fines and costs for the misdemeanor offense of Abandon Animal, alleged to have occurred on or about November 7, 2022.
Shyanne Fetty, 29, posted a $500 personal recognizance bond and is scheduled to appear for a pre-trial February 28, 2023 on a misdemeanor charge of DUI- first offense.
Matthew Greathouse, 26, forfeited bond of $170.25 for the misdemeanor of Unlawful Injury to or Destruction of Property.
Bennie Higgenbotham ll, 45, has been charged with a misdemeanor offense alleged to have occurred on or about October 29, 2022, of a Person Prohibited From Possessing a Firearm. A $2000 property surety bond was set and a pre-trial scheduled for February 6, 2023.
Carrie Jeter, 46, has been charged on or about December 15, 2022 with the alleged felony crime of Third Offense Shoplifting. A $2000 personal recognizance bond was posted and the case has been transferred to Wetzel county circuit court.
Kevin Purnell, 25, was charged on or about December 1, 2022 with the alleged felony offense of Manufacturer/ Deliver /Possess with Intent to Manufacture /Deliver a Schedule I,II, III or other Controlled Substance. A$15,000 property surety bond was been set. Purnell waived, his preliminary hearing and the case was transferred to Wetzel County Circuit Court.
Kathy Smith, 61, was charged on her about December 24, 2022 with the alleged felony offense of Uniform Controlled Substances act -prohibited acts C -Fraud Deception. A $7000 property surety bond was posted a preliminary hearing was waived and the case was then transferred to Wetzel County Circuit Court.
John Ross Taylor, 38, pled not guilty to the alleged misdemeanor offense of Domestic Assault said to happen on or about December 22, 2022. A $1000 cash bond was posted and a pretrial hearing scheduled for February 14, 2023.
Amanda Jo Thomas, 40, was charged on or about December 27, 2022 with the alleged felony offense, Manufacture/Deliver /Possess with Intent to Manufacture /Deliver a Schedule I or II Narcotic.
Celeste Thompson, 48, pled no contest to the misdemeanor offense. Abandon animal (Cruelty to Animals) to have occurred on November 7, 2022. Thompson was ordered to pay $470.25 in fines and court costs.
Lorraine Wildman, 47, posted a $2000 property surety bond, and pled, not guilty to the misdemeanor offense, Domestic Battery or Domestic Assault second offense. A pre-trial is scheduled for February 6, 2023.
Jacob Young, 27, pled, not guilty to the misdemeanor offense of Domestic Battery alleged to have occurred on December 27, 2022.
