River Cruises Past Magnolia

From the first touch of the ball, Coach Mark Romickás Pilots controlled the game and the ball, while improving their record to 15-2 on the season. Kabel Isaly came alive with the first touch and ended dropping three, three pointers into the hoop. Ty long, senior forward added to the point total scoring six from the field. He stepped up to the line for three foul shots and managed to add one point to his first quarter total. The Blue Eagles could not manage to score any from the field in the quarter. Dubale Greathouse landed two from the foul line. By the quarters end, the Pilots had 20 in their column and the Blue Eagles had two.

In the second quarter Magnolia Coach Dave Tallmanás Blue Eagles received some point producing from Haydon Pyles who landed one from beyond the three point line and one from the field. He added three more from the line while missing three. Brady Kocher and Kingston Christen added four points from the foul line. The Pilots repeated their first quarter scoring total by adding another 20 points to their total. Kabel Isaly added a total of five, River Thompson added three and Wyatt Harlan added two. Brody Lallathin finished the quarter with five. By half time the Pilots had 40 points and the Eagles 14.

The third quarter once again saw the Pilots quickly taking command. Ty Long dropped in a total of six from the floor and River Thompson added eight more. Brody Lallathin, Kaden Johnson, Finn Bowers and Peyton Blue each added two from the floor. In the third quarter the Blue Eagles managed to only score nine points. Braden Vargo hit a two and Jordan Gilbert dropped one in from beyond the three point line. By the third quarters end, the scoreboard read River 62 – Magnolia 24.

In the fourth quarter Magnoliaás, Haden Plyes found a hot hand and dropped in two from beyond the arc and two from under the basket. He missed two from the foul line. Adding to the Eagles point total were two from Dubale Greathouse and three from Kingston Christen. The fourth quarter saw the Eagles hit for 15 points, but the Pilots had a large lead going into the final eight minutes of play,

River added10 more points to their total, with Kabel Islay, Wyatt Thompson and Finn Bowers each scoring two in the final frame, while senior Brody Lallathin finished the game with four in the final eight minutes.

Kabel Isaly finished the night with seventeen points. Ty Long finished with fifteen points. And both River Thompson and Brody Lallathin landed in double figures on the night with eleven points each.

Hayden Plyes had a good night for the Eagles, as he finished the night with twenty-two points, and took game scoring honors.

Final score on the night, River Pilots seventy-two and the Magnolia Blue Eagles 38.
