New Martinsville Rotary Names Students of the Month

The New Martinsville Rotary Club met at Quinets Restaurant on Wednesday, January 11, and announced their students of the Month for January 2023. Three seniors from Magnolia high school, Angel Dennis, Ava Black, and Brock Wade were chosen for the honors.

Angel Dennis is the daughter of Jasmine and Robert Back of New Martinsville. She ranks 8th in her class and is a member of the Science National Honor Society, Sources of Strength, is a candidate for National Honor Society. She takes College classes (English, Speech and Psychology. Angel also volunteers for school functions and scources of strength.

Her special recognitions include, Principals list, Honor Roll, Faithfull Attendance, Certificate of Completion, (MOVTI), Previous member of tennis and soccer teams, and Certificate of completion (ECE).

Her community activities include school functions, Powder Puff, Sporting Events, walking, animals, and volunteering at the nursing home. Her hobbies include making crafts, watching movies, going to the mall and hanging out with friends. She plans to continue working at Arbyás to earn money.

She is considering going to Fairmont University, West Liberty, or Concord. He wants to major in Developmental Psychology. She is currently in the process of applying for scholarships.

Ava Black, is the daughter of Stacy Black. She is a senior at Magnolia and carries a 3.9 – 4.0 GPA. Her school activities include National Technical Honor Society, Nominated for National Honor Society, Early entrance classes, and attend WCTEC for health science classes. She also plays Sunday Soccer and is captain of the Magnolia Varsity Girls Soccer Team.

Ava enjoys Kayaking. She plans to attend Fairmont State College and major in Nursing. She has received the Moose Lodge Scholaship.

Brock Wade, is the son of Brett and Carla Wade of New Martinsville. He ranks 9th in his class and carries a 3.94 GPA. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta.

Brock enjoys playing video games. He plans to attend West Virginia University and Major in computer science. He has received the Promise Scholarship.
