Dawne Dushane

Good fortune came our way when the Sunshine camera came upon the annual Pow Wow held over at Hannibal Park alongside the locks and dam. There, it came across several traditional native American dancers. One of those dancers is an American woman named, Dawne Dushane. She was demonstrating a cultural dance of her people. In her bright smile it was evident she enjoyed dancing to the rhythmic sounds of drum music and songs sung of the plains Indians. Dawne had travel from her home in Oklahoma to join in on the Pow Wow before continuing on to Washington DC. There she hopes to bring awareness to the plight of her people. One thing is for sure, she brought a little sunshine to everyone see met that day. Safe journey Dawne.
