VHS Student Expelled For A Bomb Threat
A Valley High School student has been expelled for the remainder of the school year after allegedly making a bomb threat to the school.
The Wetzel County Board of Education reached their decision following a closed hearing on the matter during their Jan. 23 meeting.
While no details of the incident can be released, Superintendent Diane Watt said, “The only comment that I can make is that false threats in our school buildings are a serious matter. School administration go through painstaking procedures to ensure the safety of all students regardless of whether the threat is false. As a result, valuable instructional time is lost and students are robbed of time for other enjoyable school activities. I cannot stress to students that threats are not an acceptable action and will be addressed harshly.”
Principal Benjamin McPherson denied to make any comment on the matter.
