From Bill Forbes

I would like to publicly commend the outstanding police work of New Martinsville Police Chief Tim Cecil in apprehending the criminal who stole a vehicle from our business and for retrieving the vehicle back to us in such an expeditious manner. During his time off, Chief Cecil was following a vehicle that was driving left of center. Despite the fact that he was “off duty,” Tim noted the vehicle’s license plate number and checked the vehicle’s background. At that time, nothing turned up, but Chief Cecil followed the vehicle to a local gas station.

The next day, when we reported a vehicle as stolen from our Body Shop facility, Tim recognized that the vehicle was the same one that he had followed the night before. He then obtained a copy of the gas station’s security camera footage and recognized the culprit.

It was just a matter of days before the culprit was apprehended and the car recovered.

I wanted to publicly express my gratitude for this excellent job of police work done by Police Chief Tim Cecil.

Sincerely,

Bill Forbes, general manager of A1 Automotive Services
