Our nation is collectively marking the decade anniversary of a day of terror that will forever live in the history of the United States of America, as well as the world. The events of September 11, 2001, commonly referred to as 9/11 were too horrific to ever be forgotten.

We can all remember where we were when we heard the news. We watched in shock as an act of war came upon our shores, stunning us as it did in Pearl Harbor. Of course the differences are great, particularly since this time most victims were civilians.

So this Sunday in particular we will remember those who died in the senseless acts of violence at the hands of terrorists. We will thank our veterans and first responders, wherever they may serve. We will whisper a prayer for those who lost loved ones.

We will not forget.
