Breaker Trip Causes Release

By Staff | Aug 31, 2011

According to Karla S. Olsen, public relations manager for EQT, an electrical breaker tripped Aug. 21 at Equitrans’ Logansport compressor station near Mobley, cutting power to the station at approximately 3:18 a.m.

“The design of the station forces it to safely shut down,” said Olsen. “A neighbor reported the noise and odor to 911, and the fire department came out. Because our gas control room was monitoring the situation, our employees were already on site when the fire department arrived and we checked the surrounding area with gas detection equipment to make sure all was safe.”

EQT reset the breaker, replaced the electronic panel board, and put the station back into service later in the day.
