Town and Country Days, held last week at the Wetzel County 4-H grounds, got off to a good start on Monday despite a rain shower.

But Vice President Merle Lemasters said attendance was down for the remainder of the week. . . until Saturday.

Country music star Aaron Tippin brought in a near record crowd. The gates enjoyed their second largest one-day tally ever. The largest was for the Oak Ridge Boys in 2009.

For more photos of the county fair see pages 7A and 8A in this week’s Wetzel Chronicle. Photos of Senior Day at the fair will be in next week’s Wetzel Chronicle.
