The Friends of the Library are pleased to announce a visit from Belle Boyd, the most notorious female spy of the Confederacy, at their August book review. This special event will be held in the evening of Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. Young adults are encouraged to attend.
Open Mic Night

Music In The Park
The Paden City Park and Pool Commission continues their 2011 Music In The Park series during the month of August. Music is performed each Thursday at 7 p.m. On Aug. 25, Country Crossroads will perform at William E. Ford Park in Paden City. Sponsored by Paden City Park and Pool, all concerts are free and open to the public.
Republican Women Meeting
The Wetzel County Republican Women will meet Aug. 25 at 1 p.m. at Quinet’s Court Restaurant on Main Street in New Martinsville. All Republican women are encouraged to attend. Input on matters concerning the party is needed.
Ladies Of The Wool

Country music regularly played at the Friendly Community Building every Saturday night is cancelled for Aug. 27.

The Cars For The Veterans Car Show will be held Aug. 27 at the Veteran’s Bluegrass Festival, Field of Dreams, north of Hundred. Registration, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., is $10 each. Calvert Simmons Reunion
The Calvert Simmons reunion will be held Sept. 10 at the Silver Hill Fire Department hall located approximately 17 miles from New Martinsville on Rt. 89, Doolin Rt.
