Something In The Air?
Our front page this week is covered with controversy at city council meetings. Could it be that there’s some sort of friction in the air?
No, but it does seem that the past week has been a time for getting some differences out in the open. And you know what? That’s not always a bad thing.
There are some who would always want things to appear perfect, even us at times, but there are times when differences, real or perceived, need to come out in the open and be discussed. It doesn’t, however, mean that they can’t be resolved.
We were very happy at the New Martinsville City Council meeting that a resolution was reached. Sure, it required some compromise, but that doesn’t have to be viewed as a negative. While we believe in fighting for your convictions, we also think there can be a time to re-evaluate and come together for the greater good.
That is what appeared to happen in New Martinsville and we hope Paden City can also find some common ground as they work through their ordinance issues. Compromise can happen and it can be positive.
