Constructive Criticism
The recently released Education Performance Audits of Magnolia and Paden City high schools certainly raise concerns, but that is a good thing if it means people will show more concern for the education of local youth.
The citations were varied in both scope and severity. Constructive criticism is never pleasant, but it can indeed be constructive when acted upon appropriately.
No doubt local education officials will be reviewing, evaluating, and, where deemed necessary, correcting the violations.
We agree with former Superintendent Bill Jones’ statement in regard to the reports, “This is something many schools go through. It’s a process whereby we’re made better.”
Many times an outside entity can better see the types of changes that need to be made for improvement. We hope improvement will be the end result.
