Jeremy Keith White, 24, of 217 Rural Street, Paden City, pleaded innocent Jan. 13 via video conference in Wetzel County Magistrate Court to possession of a schedule I controlled substance (heroin) without a valid prescription. White is presently being held in the Northern Regional Jail in lieu of a $10,000 cash/surety bond following his arrest in New Martinsville by the Wetzel County Sheriff’s Office Jan. 12. He is also cited for no operator’s license.

During a traffic stop Chief Deputy Rob Haught found spoons containing heroin residue and hypodermic needles inside the vehicle White was driving. White stated he injected heroin just prior to the vehicle stop at the Arby’s parking lot in New Martinsville.

A written statement was obtained from the owner of the car stating White had purchased heroin and injected in the car.

Wetzel County Sheriff James Hoskins noted the arrest involved a great deal of teamwork from local law enforcement and commended Chief Deputy Haught and Deputy Rob Scott of the WCSO; Police Chief Michael Billiter and Officer Michael Owens of the Paden City Police Department; and Detective Donnie Harris, Officer Mike Thomas, and Officer Adam Skinner of the New Martinsville Police Department.
