By Staff | Jan 5, 2011

The Wetzel/Tyler County Children’s Advocacy Center is pleased to announce a child abuse summit training program for all Wetzel and Tyler counties law enforcement, child protective services, prosecutors, victim witness, mental health, physicians, teachers, counselors, clergy and elected officials both from local and state government.

This year’s program addresses the issues that the multi-disciplinary team, law enforcement, Child Protective Services, prosecutors, victim witness, mental health, physicians, teachers, counselors, and the community faces in dealing with the sexual abuse of children.

The training will also cover the internet issues and risks that kids face such as child pornography, sexting, cyber bullying, and teen suicide.

Jim Holler, retired police chief from the Liberty Township Police Department in Adams County, Pa., will be the presenter. Chief Holler is a nationally known speaker specializing in crimes against children. Chief Holler became an Internet Crimes Against Children Investigator starting the first task force in Adams County in 2005. He has conducted pro-active internet investigations making multiple arrests for possession of child pornography and undercover chat related arrests for soliciting sex from a minor.

The training location will be at the West Virginia Northern Community College, New Martinsville Campus, on Jan. 11 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Registration will be from 8-8:30 a.m.) There is no cost for Tyler and Wetzel counties law enforcement, Child Protective Services, prosecutors, victim witness, mental health, physicians, teachers, counselors, and elected officials both from local and state government.
