O’Brien Speaks At Celebration Dinner

At the 2010 Chamber Celebration Dinner held Dec. 9 many were in attendance to enjoy an evening of food and fellowship at the Mollohan Center. Following a catered dinner by Quinet’s Court Restaurant, the chamber members heard from keynote speaker Frank O’Brien, executive director of the Wheeling/Ohio County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

O’Brien, along with his marketing staff, created a comprehensive tourism-marketing plan and long term strategic plan for the city of Wheeling and Ohio County. Through sharing his experiences in the field, O’Brien offered suggestions to help the Wetzel County Chamber/CVB not only thrive as organizations, but to help establish, market, and maintain tourist attractions in the community, further aiding the local economy.

At the close of O’Brien’s speech, Wetzel County Chamber President Don Riggenbach and Celebration Dinner Chairperson Tom Casey presented O’Brien with a framed motivational teamwork print as a token of appreciation. O’Brien received the gift with gratitude and extended his full support to the chamber’s efforts and expressed the hope to maintain close contact and collaboration between the CVBs in the Ohio Valley.
