Communities Plan Christmas Parades

By Staff | Dec 14, 2010

The Short Line Community Christmas parade will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. beginning at the Church of Christ. The parade will stop in the center of town for the tree lighting ceremony and community sing before ending at Valley High School. The Christmas tree and lights are provided by Wise’s Beauty Shop.

Following the lighting of the tree, the community is invited to stop by the Pine Grove Library and have cookies and hot chocolate with Santa. Refreshments will be provided by the Pine Garden Club, Simon’s Market, and Santa’s elves.

The Pine Grove Library is also sponsoring a Christmas coloring contest. Children may stop by the library to pick up a coloring page before Dec. 17. Judging will be done on Dec. 20 at the library. A $25 gift card from local businesses will be awarded to the first place winner in the following age categories: Pre-K and under; grades K, one, and two; and grades three, four, and five.

Also, the Town of Hundred will hold its Christmas parade Sunday at 2 p.m.
