Trio Arrested For Attempted B&E Of PG Pharmacy
The Wetzel County Sheriff’s Department arrested three Virginia men for attempted breaking and entering at Norris Pharmacy in Pine Grove on Nov. 11.
At about 12:42 a.m. the WCSD received a call that the alarm had activated at Norris Pharmacy. It just so happened that Corporal Mike Koontz was responding to another call at the time and driving right past the pharmacy.
He noticed a car suspiciously parked along state Route 20 in Norris’ lot. The car then pulled onto the road traveling south. Koontz stopped the vehicle driven by Wesley Lynn Burress, 35, of 215 Brewster Ln, Cedar Bluff, Va. He seemed nervous and suspicious.
Deputy Randy Adams had Burress drive back to Norris Pharmacy to investigate the store’s surveillance tapes. On the tape he observed two other people attempting to break the business’ windows.
Koontz then saw two other individuals walking along state Route 20 that matched the people shown on the tape. They were Kevin E. Burress, 34, of 111 Brewster Ln. Cedar Bluff, Va., and Joshua Stephen Dye, 21, of 2331 Mill Creek Rd., Raven, Va.
All three were arrested on attempted breaking and entering and taken to the Northern Regional Jail with bond set at $20,000. After the bond was modified at the state’s motion to $15,000 surety, all three were released on bond.
The case is continuing in Wetzel County Magistrate Court.
