From Bob Yeager
The Wetzel County Farm Bureau would like to thank everyone who donated, supported, or helped in any way to make the 10th Anniversary Ronald McDonald House Charity Auction a huge success. The money raised will go to the Morgantown House to purchase food, paper items, and other needed items used during the year.
Without support of those in the area the auction would not have much success at all. Several area businesses have been part of the auction for all 10 years and deserve to be properly recognized: Ace Hardware, Advanced Auto, Auto Zone, Glenn Barnes, Bayer Heritage Credit Union, Bob and Carol Gorby, The Flower Basket, Martin’s Hardware of Pine Grove, NAPA of New Martinsville, S&S Jewelry, Talkington’s Gun Shop, Tractor Supply Co., and Wayside Furniture.
Buyers who have supported the auction for the 10 years were: Karl Brookover (who was presented with bidder card #1) and McDonald’s (Nelson and Sandy Hachem).
Buyers who have participated 5-9 years are: Lynn and Terry Adams, Larry Crebar, Bruce Crawford, Terry Cozart, and Betsy Westfall.
The WCFB would also like to thank the mayor of New Martinsville and the city council for the use of their chamber again this year. It is so nice to be able to hold the auction and not worry about the weather. Those attending appreciate the atmosphere of the chambers. Again, thank you for your support of the auction.
Thank you to the Wetzel County Chamber of Commerce for letting us hold our auction during the Chili-Fest celebration and look forward to working with you in 2011.
Please watch for a more detailed list of all the donators in the area and support them. We never know when one of our children, grandchildren, or other family members may need to use the RMH and because of these local businesses and our auction supporters we know the doors will be open. Next year’s auction will be help Oct. 29, 2011, at 1 p.m. in the city building.
