Over the summer, our early childhood, learning facility located in Jacksonburg unfortunately experienced a water line break causing flooding that permanently damaged the facility, rendering it unusable. This facility provided a central location to serve pregnant women and families with children ages birth to five years old enrolled in our Head Start program.

We began to seek a facility that could provide us with space for children and staff. We were very fortunate that the good folks from the Robert C. Byrd Center in Pine Grove came to our rescue with this dilemma. Thankfully it only took one conversation and the generosity of the city council, the mayor, and staff of Pine Grove and Robert C. Byrd Center and they graciously offered us a very beautiful room which accommodates the office space Head Start needs and free of charge during this transition.

We are currently in the process of reconstruction of a facility to be built at the same location in Jacksonburg. We invite the area residents to visit us at the Robert C. Byrd Center and learn more about the opportunities that Head Start and Early Head Start have to offer the communities of Wetzel County and when our new facility opens, stop by there as well. Again, Northern Panhandle Head Start Inc. would like to thank everyone involved with helping us in our time of need. What a great community we have here in Pine Grove and throughout the communities of Wetzel County. Please contact Leslie Dulaney, Mary Pingley, or Birdie Dent at 304-889-3509 for more information about our programming in Wetzel County.

Thank you again for the hospitality, we are very grateful.
