Goddard Places First In WVDA Photo Contest
A photograph by Kathryn Goddard of Proctor earned first place in the animals division of the 2010 agriculture photo contest sponsored by the West Virginia Division of Agriculture.
Commissioner of Agriculture Gus R. Douglass recently announces the winners of the contest.
“We received a tremendous number of entries and the judges said they had a difficult time selecting the winners from the many excellent photos,” said Commissioner Douglass. “The entrants did a superb job of capturing the beauty and character of the farms of the Mountain State.”
Winning entries along with a selection of additional entries will be displayed during the State Fair of West Virginia in the Gus R. Douglass Agricultural Annex building.
First-place entrants will receive a West Virginia Grown gift basket, courtesy of the WVDA’s Marketing and Development Division.
Winners will be honored at a ceremony during the fair Aug. 18, 10 a.m.
Adult entrants competed in five categories. Student entries were judged separately.
