On May 10, as has been proper for the past 12 years, a short memorial service was held for Herman Wade at the Elm Street site.

Present were family and workers from the electric department, water and sewer, parks and recreation, and the building inspector.

Absent: the mayor, recorder, members of council, department heads, and other distinguished members of the community.

Shameful. Herman gave his life in the service of our city. May his memory be eternal.
