Guns Stolen From Steele Residence
Sometime in the past two weeks over 30 guns have been stolen from Steve Steele’s residence in New Martinsville, located across from Bob Evans Restaurant.
The New Martinsville Police Department is continuing an investigation into the matter. They have questioned three suspects and have several leads.
In addition to the firearms, an heirloom Taylor guitar was stolen. That is the only item recovered thus far. It had been set on fire and left on Limestone Ridge. It was still smoldering when law enforcement officers found it.
Also taken was a 32-inch Visio television and the key to the home’s gun cabinet.
The stolen guns include a 30/30 Winchester Model 94, Salvage 300 Mag, 12 gauge pump shotgun, Ruger R3204 Model 700 Bolt Action Centerfire Rifle with a 24-inch barrel; AYA double barrel 20 gauge Model 100, Mossberg 500 Maverick Model 88 12 gauge, Mossberg 500E 410, Henry 22 Lever Auction, HOWA 1500 22-250, and Remington 11-48 semi-automatic 12 gauge.
A blue sport utility vehicle was seen at the house at approximately 3 a.m. on Saturday.
