Bertozzi And Conaway Lead PCHS Class

PCHS Valedictorian Allison Paige Bertozzi
Allison Paige Bertozzi and Courtney Ann Conaway received high honors during the graduation ceremony held in celebration of the Paden City High School Class of 2010 on June 5.
Bertozzi was selected as valedictorian and Conaway served as salutatorian. Both delivered inspiring speeches on Saturday afternoon.
Allison Paige Bertozzi is the daughter of Richard and Mary Bertozzi and the granddaughter of Marshall Fagert and the late Regina Bertozzi, all of Paden City.
She has participated and lettered in golf, band, volleyball, basketball, softball, and track during her four-year high school career.
She is a member of the National Honor Society and serves as president of the Paden City chapter of Mu Alpha Theta.

Bertozzi is actively involved in her parish, Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, as well as student government. She has also participated in Relay for Life, Coats for Kids, Wings for Children, Esther Crumbley, and several other community service activities.
Bertozzi will continue her athletic and academic career at Fairmont State University, where she has accepted a volleyball scholarship and will major in Biology.
Courtney Ann Conaway is the daughter of Anna Vogel-Richmond and Eric Richmond. She is a member of the National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta. Conaway was also a HOBY representative and attended Girl’s State, Governor’s Honors Academy, and Governor’s School for the Arts.
Conaway also played basketball and softball all four years of high school at PCHS and was the yearbook editor. Additionally, she volunteers for the Paden City Volunteer Fire Department.
Conaway has earned the Promise Scholarship and will attend West Virginia University and major in Biology.
High honors also went to Erica Lynn Sapp and Amanda Nicole Sellers; Ashleigh Rachelle Bland, Ethan Thomas Drain, Braxton Scott Herrick, and Amanda Carol Tallman received honors.
Stephanie West delivered the class history. Presentation of scholarships and awards was handled by Rodney McWilliams on behalf of the Paden City Foundation; presentation of honor students was done by Principal Warren L. Grace Jr.; Sandy Doty handled the presentation of the Class of 2010; and presentation of diplomas was handled by Wetzel County Board of Education members Willie Baker, Robert Patterson, Linda Ritz, Michael Blair, and Amy Dieffenbauch, and Superintendent William F. Jones, with the assistance of Rebecca Meckley, Rhoda Fitzsimmons, and Sandy Doty.
The class of 2010 includes: Isaac Malakai Anderson, Joshua Mychal Bennett, Allison Paige Bertozzi, Ashleigh Rachelle Bland, Tiffany Ann Blatt, Kevin Christopher Bliss, Courtney Ann Conaway, Silas Colin Davis, Talesia Pauline Dawson, Ethan Thomas Drain, Haley Morgan Fox, Sydney Brianna Frye, Michael Eugene Greathouse, Braxton Scott Herrick, Kayla Noel Hinkley, Kenna Michelle Lancaster, Megan Lynn Lasure, Maria Martins, Amanda Renee Lynn Morris, Amber Jo Ritchie, Erica Lynn Sapp, Amanda Nicole Sellers, Mitchell Ray Stewart, Allen Ross Straight, Amanda Carol Tallman, Olena Terentyeva, and Stephanie Danielle West. The recessional for the PCHS Class of 2010 was “Miles Apart” by Yellowcard.
