It is sad to read that Bruce Pool will not open this year. I remember when you told someone you lived in New Martinsville they would say, “Oh that town on Route 2 that has the classic above ground swimming pool.” “Yes, that’s us.”

Bruce Pool at New Martinsville Park is an iconic site in our town. Lose Bruce Pool and you lose part of our identity.

Also, if a spray and splash water park is built, the first should be in Brooklyn. They lost their kids’ pool first and were promised a replacement a long time ago.
